Discrimination Monitering Committee Dr. Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry Nauni-Solan (HP) 173 230
As per the directions of National Human Right Commission and University Grants Commission, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, New Delhi, Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni-Solan, Himachal Pradesh has constituted a Caste Based Discrimination Monitoring Committee of the University for continuously monitoring the Prevention of Discrimination in Higher Educational Institutions vide Office Orders No. UHF/Regr. (Acad) 4-7/2016-14731-80 dated 11.08.2016 and further corrigendum No. UHF/Regr.(Acad) 4-7/2016-20405-40 dated 29.09.2016 and Addendum No. UHF/Regr.(Acad) 4-7/2016-23180-210 dated 28.10.2016 and again further Addendum No. UHF/Regr.(Acad) 4-7/2016- 28000-42 dated 17.12.2016, by the Registrar, Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni-Solan (HP) 173 230.
The committee has to take the following actions:
- The official/faculty members should desist from any act of discrimination against SC/ST students on grounds of their social origin.
- The university and colleges should ensure that no official/faculty members indulge in any kind of discrimination against any community or category of students.
- Action should be taken against the erring official/ faculty members promptly.
FUNCTIONS :
- To submit an action taken report of universities /institutions to prevent Caste based Discrimination.
- To hold regular monthly meetings even if there are no complaints.
- To maintain the complained Register and mode of action to be taken on the complaint on the basis of discrimination issues
- Committee will look in to the interest of Caste based Discrimination against any community or category of students.
POWERS :
- The committee is to empowered to look into the Discrimination complaints receiving from Students/ Teachers/Non-Teacher Staff of this university.
- The Committee is empowered to recommend the action to be taken on such complaints.
- Committee is empowered to conduct proper enquiry against erring official/officers of the university.
- Monitoring of the preventions of Caste based Discrimination in Higher Education institutions.
- To propose and initiate suitable action against erring official/officers in the matter of discrimination issues.
- To conduct legal course of action against erring official/officers in the discrimination issues as per prevention of Atrocities Act 1989, Chapter No. I-V Article 33 of 1989
- To provide for Special Courts for the trial of such offences and for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of such offences and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
